Week 58 · November 2 – November 8, 2026
🎤 Education Moment Script (3–5 minutes)
Good morning, Our BNI Family! 👋
November is here — and in the culture of business networking, this month carries a built-in invitation to pause and reflect on what’s working, who’s showing up for us, and how we’re showing up for each other.
Today I want to talk about gratitude — not as a nice sentiment, but as a concrete growth strategy in BNI.
🔹 Gratitude Builds Referral Loyalty
When a Member refers you, they are investing social capital they’ve built over years. They are saying, “I trust this person with my reputation.”
How you respond to that investment determines whether they do it again.
Gratitude is not just polite. It signals: “I see what you did. I value it. I will protect your relationship.” That signal turns a one-time referral into a referral habit.
The Members who receive the most referrals week after week are almost always the ones who respond to every referral with specific, timely, personal gratitude.
🔹 Make Gratitude Visible
Private thank-yous are good. Public acknowledgment in the room is powerful.
When you stand up and say, “I want to recognize [Member] for the introduction they made for me last week — it turned into a real opportunity,” you accomplish three things at once:
1. You honor the person who referred you.
2. You reinforce that referrals in this chapter produce results.
3. You signal to the whole room that giving referrals is recognized and valued here.
Culture follows what we celebrate. When gratitude is visible, generosity grows.
🔹 Gratitude as a Weekly Practice
This week, try this: before every BNI meeting, write down one name — one person in this chapter who has contributed something to your success this year. It doesn’t have to be a referral. It could be a conversation, a connection, an idea they shared, or simply the consistency of their presence.
Then find one moment — before, during, or after the meeting — to tell them specifically what their contribution meant.
Done consistently, this practice rewires how you move through the room. Instead of focusing on what you need, you start noticing what others are already giving. And that shift in attention changes everything about how you give — and how much you receive in return.
🔹 A Quick Reminder / Why This Matters
BNI’s core philosophy is Givers Gain. But the full cycle of that philosophy includes something we don’t always name: the giver needs to know their gift was received.
Gratitude closes the loop. It makes giving feel worthwhile. And when giving feels worthwhile, Members give more — more referrals, more effort, more energy to chapter culture.
This month, let’s make gratitude a growth strategy, not just a seasonal gesture. Our BNI Family grows strongest when Members know their contributions are seen and valued. 💙 Spencer Reynolds

Hi Our BNI Family! 👋
This week’s Education Moment focused on Gratitude as a Growth Strategy.
Gratitude isn’t just polite — it’s one of the most powerful tools we have for building referral loyalty and chapter culture. When Members know their contributions are seen and valued, they give more. We explored how to make gratitude visible, specific, and consistent as a weekly practice. To reinforce this (and get part of the way toward your 1-hour CEU), here are some great BNI Podcast episodes (≈ 40 minutes total):
