🎤 Education Moment Script (3–5 minutes)
Good morning, Our BNI Family! 🙌
A lot of Members measure success by what they receive. But in BNI, your long-term success is often determined by how well you source opportunities for others.
Today’s focus is becoming a great referral source, not just a referral recipient.
🔹 Great Referral Sources Listen Differently
Average networkers listen for their turn to speak. Great referral sources listen for problems, patterns, and opportunities.
They pay attention to phrases like:
- “We’ve tried that before, and it didn’t work.”
- “I wish I knew someone who could help with this.”
- “We’re losing time/money because of this issue.”
Those are referral signals.
If you train yourself to hear these signals in daily life, you’ll never run out of opportunities to support Our BNI Family.
🔹 Qualify Before You Connect
A great referral source does not spray names. They qualify first.
Before making an introduction, ask:
- Is there real need?
- Is there readiness to talk?
- Is the fit strong enough to protect both relationships?
Then, set the handoff well. Let both people know why you’re connecting them and what value each person brings.
Strong pre-framing creates stronger first conversations and better outcomes.
🔹 Be Known as a Connector
Every BNI room has Members who are remembered as dependable connectors. They are trusted because they care about fit, timing, and follow-through.
You can become that person by doing three things consistently:
- Make thoughtful introductions.
- Follow up to ensure connection happened.
- Ask for feedback so your referrals improve.
This is where your influence grows.
The strongest connectors in BNI often become the most referred Members over time, because Our BNI Family sees them as trusted relationship stewards.
🔹 A Quick Reminder / Why This Matters
Giving qualified referrals is one of the fastest ways to strengthen trust and the culture of Our BNI Family.
This week, aim to give one intentional referral that is specific, qualified, and properly introduced. Then follow up and learn from the result.
If you want to receive better opportunities, become the person who creates them. That’s Givers Gain in mature form. Proud of the standard you’re setting. 💙 Spencer Reynolds
