🎤 Education Moment Script (3–5 minutes)
Good morning, Our BNI Family! 👋
Thanksgiving week. For many of us, the pace shifts. Family fills the schedule. Business conversations slow. And it’s easy to treat this as a week where BNI goes on pause.
I want to offer a different frame: the week before a natural pause is one of the best weeks of the year to plant seeds that will grow in December and into the new year.
🔹 Pre-Holiday Networking Is Underrated
Here’s something counterintuitive: the Members who get a head start on Q1 goals are usually the ones who do focused networking work in the weeks leading into the holidays — not the ones who pause until January.
Why? Because your competitors go quiet. The noise drops. Decision-makers are more accessible, not less. And conversations in this window tend to be warmer and less transactional because people are in a more reflective, relationship-oriented mindset.
This week is not a slowdown week. It’s a high-quality relationship window.
🔹 Three Conversations to Have Before December
Before this week closes, try to have three specific conversations:
1. A gratitude conversation. Reach out to one person — inside or outside BNI — who impacted your business this year and simply tell them. No ask. Just acknowledgment. These conversations strengthen relationships and almost always open doors.
2. A forward-looking conversation. Ask a key referral partner: “What does your business need most heading into Q1?” Then listen. The answers will tell you exactly what referrals to watch for on their behalf — and that kind of attention generates reciprocal focus.
3. A commitment conversation with yourself. What is one BNI behavior you want to do differently or more consistently starting in December? Name it. Write it down. Tell one person in this chapter what it is.
Three conversations. Each one a seed for what comes next.
🔹 Rest Is Part of the System Too
I also want to say this clearly: rest is productive.
The best long-term performers in BNI are not the ones who grind through every holiday without a breath. They’re the ones who rest with intention and return with energy. The Members who burn out are the ones who never fully recharge.
So this week — plant your seeds, have your three conversations, and then be present with the people who matter most to you. Come back to December ready.
🔹 A Quick Reminder / Why This Matters
The Members who finish the year strong don’t get lucky in January. They set it up in November.
Our BNI Family is capable of amazing things — and this week, even with the turkey and the travel and the football, we can do something small and strategic that makes December and Q1 better for everyone in this room.
