🎤 Education Moment Script (3–5 minutes)
Good morning, BNI Family! 🙌
Today we’re focusing on one of the most powerful weekly habits for growing your business in BNI:
your 30-second Weekly Presentation.
You give this every week… but are you using it strategically, or just filling time?
Your Weekly Presentation is not a commercial.
It’s not a résumé.
And it’s definitely not a list of everything you do.
Your Weekly Presentation is a referral education moment for your Chapter.
It’s where you train your fellow Members — not as your sales team — but as your Connection Team.
They aren’t expected to sell for you.
They’re expected to listen for opportunities and help make meaningful introductions when they recognize them.
That only works when you are clear and specific.
Clarity creates confidence.
Confidence creates introductions.
Introductions create referrals.
🔹 The Weekly Presentation Mindset Shift
Instead of thinking:
“My Chapter needs to sell for me.”
Think:
“My Chapter can connect me when they clearly understand who I want to meet.”
Your goal each week is to start the search engine in their minds so they begin looking for that opportunity for you.
And the best way to do that is to be SPECIFIC.
Because in BNI…
Be SPECIFIC to be TERRIFIC!
🔹 A Simple Framework That Works
1️⃣ Clear introduction
Name, profession, and a quick positioning statement. (And your number on the Chapter Roster if you create them weekly as handouts.)
2️⃣ ONE focused message
Choose just one:
• a specific type of client
• a particular problem you solve
• a brief success story
• or a referral trigger phrase to listen for
3️⃣ End with a crystal-clear request
Give an exact example of who you want to meet.
For example:
“This week, I’d love an introduction to ABC Manufacturing and their Operations Director, Joe Smith.”
Now your Chapter has something concrete to listen for — and connect you to.
You’ve started the search engine in their minds. Some may think this is too specific and it will limit their opportunities, but it is exactly the opposite, when you get that specific you actually get the brain to think who do I know like that if it doesn’t know the name you are asking for.
🔹 What NOT to Do
🚫 Don’t list every service you offer
🚫 Don’t be vague (“any business owner…”)
🚫 Don’t repeat the same script every week
🚫 Don’t try to be clever instead of clear
Remember: clarity beats creativity when it comes to referrals.
🔹 Why This Matters
Every week, you have dozens of Members listening to you.
Not as your salespeople… but as your connectors.
When you give them a specific name, company, role, or scenario to listen for, you dramatically increase the chances that someone will say:
“I know someone exactly like that — let me introduce you.”
That’s how powerful Weekly Presentations really are.
So this week, let’s commit to being crystal clear, highly specific, and easy to refer.
Because when we are specific… we become terrific. 💙
