Good morning, BNI Family! 🙌
This week we’re focusing on Visitor Experience Excellence — because the experience a visitor has during their first meeting often determines whether they’ll become our newest Member.
Why this matters:
A visitor’s first impression of our Chapter isn’t about policies or paperwork — it’s about how we make them feel. When visitors feel welcome, understood, and connected, they’re far more likely to see the value of joining our BNI Family.
Here’s how to create a world-class visitor experience:
- Welcome with warmth. Make eye contact, smile, and introduce yourself. Remember their name and use it again before they leave.
- Engage early. Don’t wait for the formal agenda — connect before the meeting begins. Ask about their business, their goals, and who they’d like to meet. Show up at least 15 minutes early!
- Explain the flow. Many visitors don’t know what to expect. Offer a quick overview of the meeting agenda so they feel comfortable and included.
- Be curious, not salesy. Visitors came to explore BNI, not to be sold to. Show genuine interest in what they do and look for natural connection points.
- Follow up with heart. A simple message like, “It was great meeting you — I hope you found value in our meeting,” goes a long way. If they felt seen, they’ll come back.
Pro tip: Every visitor is a potential Member, referral partner, or future client. Treat them like the guest of honor — because in that moment, they are.
