Inviting Visitors for International Networking Week

Week 18 (January 27 – February 2, 2025)

Introduction

“Good morning, everyone! International Networking Week is almost here, and it’s the perfect time to invite visitors to experience what our Chapter has to offer. Inviting doesn’t need to be complicated, and today we’ll focus on keeping it simple by using the GRIP script.”

Body

“Inviting visitors can be straightforward when we stick to a simple message. Let’s break it down using GRIP:

1. G for Grow – Explain how BNI helps businesses grow through networking and referrals.

2. R for Referrals – Highlight how our Chapter passes quality referrals that help everyone succeed.

3. I for Introduce – Introduce the person to BNI by inviting them to experience a meeting firsthand.

4. P for Place/Time – Be sure to mention where and when the meeting will take place. This helps keep the invitation clear and organized.

Additionally, think about inviting key figures from the community, such as the mayor or local business owners. Their participation can add credibility and strengthen our Chapter’s connection to the local community.

5. Keep it simple – When inviting someone, keep the conversation easy and to the point. You might say, ‘We’re having a special event for International Networking Week. I’d love for you to come meet our Chapter and see how BNI can help grow your business.’”

Example

“Imagine inviting a local business owner or the mayor. You can say, ‘We’re celebrating International Networking Week, and I’d love for you to attend one of our meetings. It’s a great way to connect with local business leaders and see how we pass referrals.’ Keeping the invitation simple and clear helps them feel welcome without feeling pressured.”

Conclusion

“International Networking Week is a great time to invite new faces into our Chapter. Let’s keep our invitations simple, use the GRIP script, and invite local leaders or business owners to grow our Chapter and create more opportunities for everyone!”
