Week 5 (October 28 – November 3, 2024)
Introduction
“Good morning, everyone! Today, let’s dive into understanding the different personality types in our Chapter and how knowing them can improve our connections and referrals. We’ll be looking at the D.O.P.E model—Dove, Owl, Peacock, and Eagle—and how each type interacts in business settings.”
Body
“Every Member in our Chapter has their own unique personality style, and recognizing these styles can help us communicate better and build stronger relationships. Here’s a breakdown of each type:
1. Dove – Doves are peaceful, friendly, and team players. They thrive on collaboration and tend to be loyal, supportive, and good listeners. When working with a Dove, focus on trust and long-term relationships.
2. Owl – Owls are analytical and detail-oriented. They prefer facts and logic and like to have all the information before making a decision. When communicating with an Owl, provide data and be prepared to explain how things work.
3. Peacock – Peacocks are outgoing, social, and love the spotlight. They are enthusiastic and enjoy building connections. When dealing with Peacocks, focus on their achievements and give them opportunities to shine.
4. Eagle – Eagles are natural leaders. They are decisive, direct, and goal-focused. They like to get straight to the point and appreciate efficiency. When working with an Eagle, focus on results and solutions.”
Example
“For example, if you’re having a One-to-One with a Dove, focus on building a long-term relationship and be sure to show your genuine care and support. On the other hand, if you’re meeting with an Owl, bring facts, numbers, and logic to the table. This tailored approach helps us better understand each other and build stronger connections.”
Conclusion
“Understanding personality types allows us to adapt our communication styles and improve how we interact with different Members of our Chapter. Let’s use the D.O.P.E model to enhance our relationships, making it easier to give and receive referrals that fit each personality type.”
