Hello, fellow BNI Members! As the year comes to a close and we navigate through the festive season and the pandemic’s aftermath, it’s an ideal time to reflect on the value BNI brings to each of us. While we all get different things out of our BNI membership, let’s explore some of the key benefits that make BNI more than just a referral network. So “WIIFM” What’s In It For Me?
WIIFM #1: Commercial Success (1 minute)
At its core, BNI is a powerful Word-of-Mouth Referral Marketing System. It’s a proven fact that consistent effort, the right attitude, and the right business alignment within BNI lead to commercial success. The referrals and connections we gain here can significantly boost our businesses.
WIIFM #2: Peer Support (1 minute)
Owning a business can be isolating, but in BNI, we are surrounded by like-minded peers at different stages of their entrepreneurial journey. The support we receive from fellow Members is invaluable. They lift us up during challenging times, share their wisdom, and celebrate our wins with genuine enthusiasm.
WIIFM #3: Professional Development (1 minute)
BNI offers general professional development every week in our Networking Education as well as our CEUs that we get from learning on our BNI Business Builder Platform. Learning about various industries keeps us relevant and well-informed as well, so pay attention to our Weekly Presentations. This broader perspective helps us avoid tunnel vision and expands our horizons. Oh and we also know that attending the Member Success Program and Advanced Training classes will help us develop professionally and we can become E2 (E-Squared) the recognition that demonstrates that we really care about our professional development.
WIIFM #4: Insight (1 minute)
Understanding different industries can prove beneficial when dealing with clients from those industries. The insights we gain through BNI give us a unique advantage in serving our clients better. For instance, knowledge about plumbers can be useful when building websites for them.
WIIFM #5: Market Research (1 minute)
BNI provides an incredible opportunity for market research. Having a fellow Member in a particular market can serve as a sounding board or test case for our new products or services. Their input helps us refine and develop offerings before a full rollout.
WIIFM #6: Work on Your Business, Not in Your Business (1 minute)
We all know the importance of working on our businesses, but finding the time can be a challenge. BNI meetings give us a dedicated space to focus on our businesses and ourselves for 90 minutes each week.
WIIFM #7-99: Open Discussion (2 minutes)
Let’s open up this question to the room: What are the other benefits we gain from our BNI membership that we haven’t mentioned yet? Feel free to share your thoughts, such as increased confidence, improved public speaking, meaningful relationships, leadership skills, and an uplifting environment during challenging times.
